![]() That's also why so many people take offense with it, it's annoying enough to see that stuff on platforms(different consoles and PC). Also there's the fact that doing this is basically telling Epic Games that trying to monopolize the PC-market with this exlusivity-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is ok to whoever in your firm made that decision. And for the early access-process as it's been populraized on Steam as well. But it just proves the point that for the community, that deal is a bad one. The part of what could be done there, would probably apply to a forum of your own as well. It would've been a lot more seamless if there was a store where they buy it that has actual community-features and a forum, where people could easily post their feedback and it could be easily and transparently discussed. No real offense meant there, as I don't think you've thought of what I'll state now when writing that. "As seamless as possible after taking the exclusivity-deal" is what you should've answered for a porper answer, in my honest opinion. We want to make the process as seamless as possible. We're also looking at hosting our own forums in the future, so folks can get help regardless of the storefront they use. Our current plan is to collect community feedback during Early Access, directly in the game itself through the UI, as well as through Discord and email. I've mentioned this elsewhere, in another thread. I just wanted to be sure we'd have that full year to add content to the game and give us a good runway to get the game going on strong footing. If for some reason we stay in Early Access past a year, we can release that version on Steam and continue EA as needed. The chance of that period being extended for any reason is effectively zero. Everyone has made it very clear how they feel about the existing exclusivity. We have no plans to extend the exclusivity period beyond the first year of Early Access, and that's not something that I would even entertain the possibility of changing at this point. ![]() I've been checking back here periodically to catch up on everything. I've been trying to go through and answer them, so if I've missed any, please let me know. Even if they legitimately needed to extend "early access", there is no reason why they can't do so by releasing on Steam EA as well.unless the "extension" was paid for by epic. This leads me to believe that there is a good chance they will do so(ie greater than one year) if epic offers them even more money for it. I specifically asked whether they will agree to extend epic exclusivity(be it in "early access" or "release" form) should epic request so in exchange for giving them even more money. Of course it's one year "early access" on Epic.ĭo note that the developer has yet to answer one of the previous questions I put up regarding this. For once someone with a real good reason. They are bringing console war BS to the most open platform in gaming industry. Uplay doesn't do that, GoG doesn't do that (Unless they are the one who have gone through the problem of converting old games to run on current gen os), Origin doesn't do that and STEAM doesn't do that. Simple, Steam doesn't hold 3rd party game as an exclusive. ![]() Not trolling here just asking why, and maybe its totally legit. I don't know much about Epic except for the Unreal engine that make 50% of the games we play, are they really a bad company? Did they steal someone? I have seen a conspiracy theory somewhere that Epic are chinese spies.but it can't be that right? We could start another conspiracy: The people complaining are Steam employees.you know what I mean. You know that a monopoly is the worst thing that can happen to the consumer right? ![]() If you guys boycott Epic and only support Steam monopoly, does that mean you guys don't have any game on : Origin - Microsoft store - Uplay - Gog - Blizzard battlenet - Playstation - Xbox, Nintendo - Applestore - Google play store, etc? ![]() Originally posted by SebJulien:Really trying to understand here and not trolling anyone. ![]()
